Harnessing Focus: The Stoic Approach to Eliminating Distractions

This one is crucial, and maybe the most difficult one. Some tips to master your focus.

  1. Meetings only in the afternoon — when you have less energy, and, after you finished your 3 to do’s
  2. Check your mailbox only after finishing your 3 to do’s list up higher
  3. Put your phone 1 meter from your keyboard, this will make it more difficult to grab it real quick without disturbing your co-workers
  4. Leave your phone at your desk when you go for a coffee
  5. It’s OK to let your mind wander, but use your to do list to get your mind back on track
  6. Jot down random thoughts or things to do on a blank piece of paper next to you. Use your afternoon to process that list.

Finally, get some time to go outside for a walk or run.
