At least we still laughed

Suitcases packed, checked in and ready to fly over the clouds.

Excitement, anticipation and memories fill my thoughts.

So much time has gone by! I’m meeting the place I left behind at the airport.

I’ll close my eyes now and wake up to a dream come true.

I’m finally here! Why is this Jet bridge so long? Where is my suitcase? Why do I suddenly feel so impatient and why are my eyes getting blurry?

Ugh! Emotions, stop! You’re not supposed to show!

I exit the airport… “Oh! They expanded the pickup area” I tell my wife. “They also…” a Taxi driver approaches us before I finished my sentence. “Where are you going?” He asks. “Yes, we just arrived after a long flight, thank you for welcoming us” I think to myself. I’m too nice to say it out loud. I just give him the destination info instead. I’m too happy to really care…

Off on our way we go! I look at my wife with a smile of excitement, as we squeeze each other's hand! “We’re finally here” our eyes speak. A long honk accompanied by a mumbled familiar “που πας ρε!”** turns my smile into an “oops” funny kind of look followed by a slight “oh well” shoulder movement
