I Struck Gold

I have had strange encounters with luck in the past 30 years.

I should mention I’ve always been a privileged person growing up where and how I did.

I’ve had emotional/psychological struggles???—???mild compared to many???— but have had opportunities of financial wellness since I was born.

None of that was obvious after graduating from grad school. I have always worked hard, but it was never clear I wasn’t going to be a starving artist???—???once I chose to go pro with my dance career.

But my path of running into the right people at the right time has certainly been something to note.

This list highlights things relating to my financial and housing health over the years.

In the last few, however, I have gotten into a deep hole financially, although have still been supported with connections and ways of living.

A stroll down memory lane…

Graduate School

I was in a nighttime cafe with my parents and boyfriend, overseas. I was away for the year in college, and my folks came to visit. I recall my father mentioning???—???in passing???—???my grandmother leaving money if I wanted to go to graduate school.

A year later, upon finishing college???— and having no idea what I was going to do???—???I leaned on this opportunity and used that money for a 2-year program.
