Of all the descriptions of Vivek Ramaswamy’s performance in the Republican Primary Debate, I think “vexing” is the most apt.
If Vexing Vivek were a teenage boy of too wealthy parents in his first year in college studying, say, art, you might call him spunky. But he isn’t spunky. Instead, he’s a 38-year-old, self-described “skinny guy with a funny name.”
To which description I add: “with lots of bleached teeth behind an aggressive grin pointed in the direction of anybody making sense and with lots of alternative or irrelevant facts like “Fossil fuels are a requirement for human prosperity.” “Reverse racism isn’t racism.” “The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to man.” “Capitalism lifts us up from poverty.”
